As sanctions regimes and export controls continue to evolve, maritime companies face growing compliance challenges across global supply chains.
Yesterday in Hamburg, MACN hosted a practical workshop on sanctions and export controls with the ZVDS – German Shipbrokers´ Association and the German Shipowners Association (VDR).
The discussions focused on the real-world compliance challenges facing maritime companies, particularly how to navigate increasingly complex sanctions, trade controls, and integrity expectations across global supply chains.
A big thank you to VDR and ZVDS, as well as to the experts from Morrison Foerster, for sharing their expertise and contributing to an open and constructive exchange of experiences. We also thank all attendees for their active participation and willingness to share perspectives and practical experiences.
Strengthening integrity in maritime trade requires practical solutions, knowledge sharing, and industry-wide collaboration. It was encouraging to see so many companies come together to discuss these challenges and exchange experiences.
This workshop forms part of MACN’s Transparent Trade Routes initiative.
