MACN Joins OECD and KPK Workshop in Jakarta to Advance Business Integrity in Indonesia

Last week in Jakarta, MACN took part in a workshop jointly convened by the OECD – OCDE and Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), focused on supporting Indonesia’s efforts to combat foreign bribery as part of its path toward accession to the OECD Anti‑Bribery Convention. The session included MACN’s Country Lead for Indonesia, Ahmad Qisa’i.

The discussion brought together public authorities, the private sector, and civil society to explore how collective action can strengthen business integrity, support reform, and help create a more predictable and trusted operating environment.

For MACN, this dialogue reflects a core principle of our work. Sustainable change in complex sectors such as maritime trade depends on practical public‑private collaboration and shared responsibility across the ecosystem.

This has been demonstrated through MACN’s earlier work in Indonesia, including initiatives launched in 2015 that contributed to follow‑up actions by Indonesian authorities to strengthen integrity in the sector. MACN’s current initiatives aim to build on and complement these efforts as reform continues.

This engagement connects directly to MACN’s broader work in Indonesia, where we are advancing integrity through collective action, capacity building, and structured dialogue across the maritime value chain.
